A new multifunctional centre of art and fashion has been launched in New York, specifically in Brooklyn. Its hand-made products are so appealing that we will inevitably crawl out of the island of Manhattan and knock eagerly on its door.

The Space NYC

The Space NYC

If something modern has to happen, it will happen first in New York and later, as waves pushed from a stone, in any other city in the world. The city of skyscrapers slowly but surely approaches its anniversary of being the capital of the world, art and modernity for almost a century and it seems that the other aspirants to the throne are not in their best shape.
One of the thousands of examples of this modernity which appear each year in New York is The Space NYC, a showroom located in the Brooklyn neighbourhood which is, in addition to the above mentioned, a workshop, shop, bar, exhibition space, plant nursery and many other things. It was founded in 2016 by three friends, Max Poglia, founder and creative director of Poglia, a brand orientated to "ruggedly handsome" products for men who are clearly focused on traditions and ancient materials, Helio Ascari who established Ascari Bicycles in 2011, a brand of hand-made bicycles which are created with attention paid to the smallest detail, and Alessandro Squarzi, designer of fashion brands Fortela and AS65 and manager of several showrooms in Italy.
Knowing a little bit about the background of these three business partners, it is easy to guess that if one enters The Space NYC he will surely find high quality products, hand -made, with exquisitely timeless design. Moreover, there is an added bonus, because while in the workshop one can observe the artisans who work for Ascari Bicycles and Poglia Knives, because their studios are located in The Space NYC. Lay down your arms: this is modernity.
